The Bishop has asked all churches to suspend worship and all activities for the month of April. All church activities including worship will be suspended through and including Sunday, April 26. This includes office staff working from home for the most part. We will be available by phone, email, or text. Pastor Rob and Pastor Karen will not be suspending Pastoral care.
We hope to return to normal operations on Monday May 4th.
Worship Services Live on Facebook
We will livestream worship on the church Facebook page with scripture, prayer, and a sermon on Sundays at 11AM. We may have some special music as well. You will need to have a Facebook account to watch these services.
Drive In Church Service Starts Sunday, April 5th.
We will also have drive in church starting April 5. You will drive to our back parking lot, park, and tune your radio to 89.3.
Sunday bulletins will be available on our website for download.
If you do not have a Facebook account you will need to download the app from the Google play app store or the Apple App store and follow the prompts to set up an account. Or, if you would rather watch from your PC or laptop you will need to open your browser and go to facebook.com and open an account.
Once you have an account you will need to go here: https://www.facebook.com/McEverUMC/ (cut and paste this into your browser). This is the church Facebook page. You will need to “like” the page by clicking on the “like” button below the “Lent” banner.
As far as we know all churches in our conference will be honoring Gov. Kemp’s and Bishop Sue’s request.
Tithes and Offerings
It will be very important to continue your regular giving for the next 4 Sundays. We might be suspended for a few weeks, but our expenses won’t be. Please mail your check to the church: 5226 McEver Road Oakwood, GA 30566. However, our Leadership Team encourages you to give electronically if you are not already. Go to our website mceverumc.org and click on the “Give Online” icon or you can also set this up through your Realm account as well.
Please be in prayer for our medical professionals, our government, and those suffering from this virus.
