“A Disciple’s Path: Membership Course” with Pastor Tyler Want to become a more intentional, faithful disciple of Jesus? Join us for "Disciple’s Path," an eight-week course where Pastor Tyler will help you learn the essentials of how you can grow your relationship with God and make a difference in the world through your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness as a member of McEver Road UMC. This course is perfect for those interested in joining the life of McEver Road UMC, those who have recently become members, and even our long-time members who are looking for a refresher! The course will begin on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 12:30pm in Bagley House. Light refreshments will be served, and childcare can be arranged upon request. Giving Thanks Season November & December The Leadership Team decided to make November and December “Giving Thanks” months to help support different charities that need our help. Four charities will be highlighted in November and another four in December. The display on the table up front will have sticks for each group. Simply pick-a-stick for the group you wish to help. NOVEMBER Good News at Noon (Red Logo) - Needs are socks, underwear, toothpaste and brushes, soap, shampoo and laundry pods. South Hall Community Food Pantry (Yellow Logo) - Fill a reusable bag with 12 nonperishable items. Samaritan’s Purse (Brochure) Operation Christmas Boxes. Boxes provided. Return by November 16th . West Hall Middle School (WHM Logo) - Teacher Appreciation gift cards, $10-$25 for Restaurants, Stores, Amazon, or Visa Gift Cards. DECEMBER HUGS – Five $100 Tamale Dinner (Several folks may want to sponsor 1 dinner), Five school sponsorships or a child’s Christmas present. MRUMC Children’s Ministry - Outside play structure. Community Trunk or Treat & Candy Donations Sunday October 26th from 4-6pm at the city park in downtown Oakwood It’s that time of year where we prepare for the upcoming Trunk or Treat event by asking for your help! We’ll have lots of fun activities planned - more details coming soon, but in the meantime, we’d love for you to bring donated candy (individually wrapped) to the church during regular office hours or on Sunday mornings. Of course, we’ll need your trunk! We’ll be sharing an online sign-up soon so you can grab your spot and decorate a trunk for some community fun! It's Pastor Appreciation Month! October is designated as Pastor Appreciation month. Help us to let Pastor Tyler know how very much he is appreciated! A few ideas to show your appreciation: send a handwritten note or card, drop off some homemade treats or a basket of his favorite snacks, provide a meal or gift card, or simply offer your thanks. And of course, remember to pray for him and his family, which is especially important.  Please Note: Cash donations will not be accepted for gifts.

Annual Church Picnic Sunday, October 12 after service Join us for the annual Church Picnic on Sunday, October 12, starting right after worship. This year’s picnic will be held on campus. We’ll have hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill, so bring your favorite sides and desserts to share. Don’t forget your lawn chairs, bug spray, and sunscreen!
